Sheringham Sign on the North Norfolk RailwayThe North Norfolk Railway is a well known preserved steam railway. It is good fun for family outings or for a serious nostalgia trip for train spotters of all ages. The railway has a flourishing programme of events, trips, special days and children’s activities.

The Railway takes centre stage during the popular Sheringham 1940s Weekend in September.

The railway runs regular galas, showcasing a mix of visiting and home locomotives, with special services including the “Muddle & Go Nowhere Bar”, serving real ale, soft drinks and snacks and “Fish & Chip Supper Trains”.

If you have young children, we can recommend the Santa Specials which usually run from the the end of November until Christmas Eve, departing from Sheringham Station. During the journey to Weybourne adults are served sherry & mince pies and the children biscuits & soft drinks. Weybourne Station is transformed into Santaland and children between 1 & 14 receive an appropriate gift for their age.

The mince pies & sherry continue into Januar with the Mince Pie Specials.
