The PrairieThe Prairie is recently renovated and has been furnished thoroughout to a very high standard. The layout is generous in proportion, light, airy and spacious - what you'd hope for in a seaside home. The house has been re-fitted from top to bottom with new bathrooms and kitchen and provided with brand new new beds and bedding of course.
The house is centrally heated throughout (gas and electricity are included in the rental price). A range of entertainment is provided for guests including televisions, DVD and video players, board games and books.
There are steps to the front door but level access to the back door with just a small step down into the kitchen. The ground floor accommodation also includes a shower and toilet with washbasin for extra convenience. Cotton Bedding is provided, beds are made up with duvets, and additional blankets are available. Bedding etc for the travel cot is not provided. Ground FloorEntering by the front door up 4 wide steps and you are in the hall with its original Victorian tiled floor. Ahead and to the right is the staircase to the two upper floors.
The downstairs toilet, washbasin and shower room are opposite the dining room as is the spacious hanging area for jackets, sunhats and shoes. The understairs cupboard houses the vacuum cleaner and other essentials for a quick cleanup when needed.
Through a door the utility room provides further cupboards,worktops and storage plus a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and fridgefreezer. The highchair, ironing board , iron and etc are also stored here. There is a further area for coats and boots etc by a radiator and the back door designed to allow wet or muddy swimmers or walkers to come straight in that way for convenience. First Floor
To the right is a queensize room with an Edwardian feel to the décor, also with room for a cot. There is a washbasin, a wardrobe with a history, pretty dressing table, bedside cupboards with lamps and a comfortable bedroom chair. The fourth bedroom is a good size single fully equipped with wardrobe, chest, wicker chair and bookshelf. The family bathroom, completely renewed recently also includes an over bath shower and washbasin. There is a separate toilet with washbasin. Second Floor
From the window the sea is just visible over the roof tops! OutdoorsOutside is a large patio with a small lawned area, a summer house, garden furniture, gas barbeque and a newly planted garden. There is parking for 3 cars at the front of the house and also a nearby carpark if more is needed. Well-behaved pets are welcome at an extra charge- by pre-booked arrangement only. PRICES Prices range from £375 for a short break offseason to £1350 for a week in the peak periods. We can offer a range of discounts for small groups of 6 or less outside of the peak holiday periods, that is outside of the summer, Easter, Christmas, New Year and school half terms. The Prairie has 2 reception rooms, a large luxury kitchen, a separate utility room, 5 bedrooms, 3 bath/shower rooms with toilets and washbasins, a large patio dining area, a small grassy garden with a summer house (which is ideal for smokers and/or as a games room). There are 3 off-street parking spaces
Summer dining facilities include a gas barbeque and garden furniture.
On the left a door opens into the sitting room where three sofas provide comfortable seating for 10. The floor is the original Victorian pine gently treated to reveal its natural honey tones. There is an open fireplace with a warming coal effect flame gas fire for those chilly days. The Sitting Room is well equipped for entertainment: TV, Video, DVD and music centre. There's also a selection of books and board games.
The next door along the hall is the Dining Room with a long pine table and chairs seating 10-12. There is a wood burner style electric fire to add warmth on cool evenings. A small TV, a games and toy cupboard and bookshelves make this another room for relaxing as well as for meals.
Finally at the end of the hall is the bright and cheery luxury kitchen with a large window looking out onto the patio area. The double oven range has gas burners, a fan oven and a regular oven (both electric). The table under the window extends to seat up to 6 if needed. The original mantelpiece and an original store cupboard have been restored. The newly built kitchen includes a range of cupboards with worktops containing crockery, cutlery, glasses, pans and utensils for 10-12 plus an additional set so there is no problem when one set is in the dishwasher. The usual kitchen equipment is provided including microwave, toaster, kettle, teapots, plunge coffee pots etc together with a radio and CD player. There is a small collection of cookbooks.
The wide hall on the first floor, with a comfortable chaise longue for those quiet moments leads to 4 of the five bedrooms. At the front of the house is one of the larger bedrooms. It has a kingsize bed and plenty of room for a cot (one travel cot provided) There is a comfortable chair, cheval mirror, wardrobe, chest, bedside tables and lamps.
To the left of bedroom 1 is a bunkbed room, with adult size bunks, chest of drawers, small wardrobe and lamp.
Narrow stairs lead to the second floor which can comprise a suite in itself and offer a good degree of privacy if required. There is a small hall area with doors to the bedroom and the separate shower room with toilet and washbasin, and a Velux window with wideranging views. The bedroom is large with three single beds, bedside tables and lamps, a wardrobe, and a wicker chair.
