This is a short walk from Sheringham to West Runton, with an option to walk over Beeston Bump, or along the beach, joining the Norfolk Coastal Path by ascending a series of wooden steps up to the cliff top.

Both routes starts from The Prairie. If you want to walk over Beeston Bump, then turn right and head up Cliff Road, bearing left towards the miniature golf course, and heading towards the path that clearly heads up Beeston Bump.

Follow the path, keeping close to the cliff edge, and you will arrive at the Beeston Regis Caravan Park. There are steps down to the beach here; this is where you will join the coastal path if you decide to walk along the beach.

You then carry on towards the Kingswood Caravan Park. The path at all times is clearly defined, and as you head towards West Runton, you will be treated to excellent views of the coast and Beeston Bump.

The coastal path will bring you out to the West Runton Beach Car Park, and you should be able to see the Seaview Beach Cafe from here.

Alternative Route

Head right from the front door down Beach Road to the Promenade, then turn right at The Mo, heading eastwards. You will pass The Funky Mackerel, the colourful beach huts, and a property situated on the cliff side. This is “The Wee Retreat”, and is a converted public toilet that has featured on TV.

At the end of the promendade, you will descend via a couple of steps onto the shingled beach, with the sea to your left. After about half a mile, you will spot a series of wooden steps built into the cliff side. These will take you up to the Beeston Regis Caravan Park, at which point you’ll join the Norfolk Coastal Path.
