Review – Cookie’s Crab Shop

One of the many delights of holidaying on the Norfolk Coast has to be sampling the local produce.

Fresh Fish Supper

I’m probably the only one in my family that enjoys seafood, so was pleased to hear that Mrs B had booked us, grandad, and her aunt and uncle a table at Cookies, in Salthouse. Needless to say it was a meal that was enjoyed by all.

You would probably drive past this place without realising it was there – it’s tucked away off the main road behind the village green, and is rather unassuming.

However, chance upon it, and you will discover a hidden gem – the food is absolutely delicious.

They do not cater for young children, have limited opening times, and seating is at a minimum, so would recommend booking in advance. Cookie’s are not licensed, but you can bring your own bottles.

Yummy Crab Salad Royale

It’s very much a take-us-as-you-find-us kind of place, as you can see from the plastic cups, but do not let that deceive you. The quality of the food speaks for itself.

There are a reasonable selection of puddings available. Our selection included sticky toffee pudding, and pear and ginger pudding, both served with custard.

Prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous, and if you like seafood, would highly recommend.
