The Prairie Cottage Sheringham » About Us

My family have holidayed in Norfolk for as long as I can remember due to family links around Stiffkey.

After a chance job opportunity given to my father at a county fair about 20 years ago my parents decided to up-sticks, semi-retire and move from Stockport down to Norfolk, taking my younger brother and sister with them. I stayed behind, having just started my first job in Manchester.

I introduced my wife-to-be to the delights of Norfolk around the same time I introduced her to my parents. The tradition of Norfolk family holidays continued, first as a couple and then with our three children, and we settled upon Sheringham as our favourite coastal town after staying in various self-catering cottages on and around the North Norfolk coast.

We decided that it would be nice to put down some roots in the area and purchased The Prairie in 2013, a property that we fell in love with several years before as guests and never dreamed of owning.

We love Sheringham and Norfolk and consider The Prairie to be our home from home. Our aim is simply to make our guests feel comfortable and welcome.
